The Rise of the Ancients saga began three years ago with the release of JC De La Torre's Ancient Rising. Originally envisioned to be a trilogy, The Annuna novel brings the story arc of Dan Ryan to a close, while opening a new world to explore. The author has stated there will be at least two more RotA novels released in the next few years. Annuna expands on the story that began in Ancient Rising, where a widower was approached by a being claiming to be the Greek god Hermes. Hermes puts Dan on the adventure of a lifetime, sending him to exotic places across the globe in search of the lost continent of Atlantis. Dan joins with a team of Atlantis researchers and together they face perilous dangers in the search for the continent. When they arrive, they discover the gods of myth are indeed real and bent on revenge for being imprisoned in Atlantis. Annuna continues the saga, providing how the gods came to Earth, introducing the benevolent beings - the Annuna, as well as the young handsome Prince Alosletian - who becomes King of Atlantis and is witness to its final destruction at the hands of the gods. It also continues the story of Dan and his struggle to save humanity from sharing the fate of the lost world. Finally, in the short story collection, Nightmares From Eberus, the story Rise of the Ancients - Alulim, picks up the story from the end of Annuna and clues you in on the aftermath of the dramatic conclusion of Annuna.
